Three new indie pop tracks that will have you feeling the summer time goodness

Muo Duo – “Somewhere and Nowhere”
-There’s a glowing energy to this track that puts a smile on my face. The vocal harmonies are the standout aspect of the song, but the whole aesthetic is enjoyable. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to lean back into a hammock or take a walk on the beach. Something about the breezy energy of the song feels timeless, conjuring images of the Beach Boys all the way to something more recent like Ben Abraham. I dig these vibes a great deal.

Eva Milligan – “Loveproof”
-When a song starts with the lyric “listening to Phoebe” you just know it’s going to be good. I’m sure you all get the reference to Phoebe Bridgers, but even if you didn’t you would catch it in the first few lines of the song. Everything from the production to the vocal effect feels like it was written as an homage to the Bridgers style of indie pop. This song has a rising pop flavor to it that feels like it was to jump out of its shell and scream in the middle of the stage. The lyrical style is tender and emotional, but there’s something about the aspirational quality that makes it relatable. It’s not just a love song; it’s about longing for what could be in a relationship. The authentic vocal delivery alongside sincere lyrics makes for a combination that’s sure to find fans amongst our indie pop following.

Adelin – “Molt”
-It’s a great sign when a song gives you chills in the first line. I definitely got that with this new track from Adelin, which is why it was an easy yes for me. There’s a gentle, understated energy to the song that makes me instantly melt. I don’t throw this comparison around lightly, but the vocal delivery reminds me of the soft whispery singing of Lizzy McAlpine. Adelin captures that same sort of intimacy in both the production as well as the vocal styling. It’s not often that I wish a song was longer, but that’s the case with “Molt.” At just under two minutes, I find myself wanting to hear a few more of those delicious chord changes and lean into the soft vocal just a bit more. I guess I’ll have to listen again… and again… and again. This one is a hidden gem.
