Missing Since Monday – “Better Days”
-I’ve written about my love of pop punk many times, so I won’t regale the reader here. That said, if you know the Relient K song “Sadie Hawkins Dance,” you will really feel a connection with this track. The chord progression, pacing, and phrasing feels like it’s quite similar. As a lifelong Relient K fan, I am always intrigued to find that sound again. The vocal here feels quite strong and the forward momentum of the track works well. The lyrical them of relatable social dynamics (and for many of us awkwardness) that makes it so endearing. If you’ve ever had that anxious feeling before asking someone out, this track is for you. Strike a power chord and sing at the top of your lungs, this is pop punk done right.
