Three Americana tracks that will help you appreciate the beautiful leaves

Benjamin Dakota Rogers – “When I do die”
-This is an old school two-step style with some absolutely beautiful vocals and lyrics. It’s old fashioned in the vein of the Milk Carton Kids that is to stay old style with a fresh production. The balance of the guitars reminds me of the MCK and the Dave Rawlings Machine sound. It’s endearing and sweetly done. If you are looking for a song that captures the essence of Americana music, you would be hard pressed to find a better track than “When I do die” by Benjamin Dakota Rogers.

Sweetheart – “Running out of light”
-The easy going acoustic work on this track definitely connected with me right away. Adding in some beautiful harmonies and a well-placed steel guitar takes the track from good to great. There’s an understated power to a composition like this; it doesn’t need to rattle the rafters to hit us emotionally. Something about the track’s darkening sincerity feels perfect for the beautiful death represented by the autumn season. This track captures my current mood without directly lyrically addressing it, but it just… works. I hope it does for you as well.

California Gold – “Steady Ground”
-If you’re looking for an upbeat modern rock take on Americana, check out this new track from California Gold. As the historical inspiration for the band’s name, California Gold provides a compelling sense of movement. There’s a lot of mixed instrumentation here that might make some see it more as pop rock than Americana. It’s definitely an energetic piece of writing. The overall quality of the track makes it one that we are happy to feature here. It begs movement as well as singing along. Close your eyes, get moving, and be inspired by the lyrics.
