Andrea Von Kampen – “A Midwest Christmas”
-If you’ve been around my writing for the past few years, you know about Andrea Von Kampen’s beautiful songwriting. Imagine my delight when I learned of this holiday original from Von Kampen. It’s got a sort of Glenn Campbell style country-folk style to it. The “hello again…” lyric is exquisitely delivered and reminds me of “home” in the sincerest way possible. The jazzy piano makes it blend into a delightful Americana style. The whistling solo punctuates a wonderful tune that has the genuine opportunity to be a new classic. If you have a chance, you should request this song from your holiday radio stations.
