Cole Swenson – “Julia”
-Not all love songs are about romantic relationships; sometimes a love song is about family, as is the case with this remarkable song from Cole Swenson. There’s so much hope and light in every line of this song, it’s truly wonderful. Swenson sings every line with sincerity and truth telling. The acoustic guitar work is a beautiful base to the song and Swenson’s understated vocal is characteristically engaging on this song. The layered vocals on the chorus are absolutely outstanding. You’ll listen to 1000 folk songs before you hear something this beautiful again, trust me. Julia must cry every time she hears this; it’s breathtaking.
