I can’t stop listening to hyperpop savant Lyncs

I don’t do the whole “fan girl” thing too often, but honestly from the time I discovered Lyncs I’ve been feeling a tad obsessed. If you know my music writing, I tend to feature more folk and indie rock than something called “hyperpop,” so what gives?

I think I’m drawn to Lyncs for three main reasons: the melody is always quality, the production is outstanding, and the vocal has an intimacy and familiarity that I connect with easily. These aspects are true on all of the songs I’ve featured from this emerging artist.

The most recent submission is “if i lose you,” a thoughtful and expressive dramatic song with a range of pop and electronic elements. There’s a desperation in the lyrics, “if I lose you I lose everything.” If you’ve ever been in a situation where it felt like everything rested on staying with someone, you’ll relate. “I found peace in the city I wish I never had to leave.” Wow. The dynamics on the bridge around the 3:15 mark is fantastic. This is a song with a relatable concept and a climactic instrumental-vocal moment that is excellent.
