Three captivating singer songwriters in the alt pop realm for fans of quality music

EDDY – “Baby Blue”
-I’m not sure there’s anything I could say to prepare you for the quality you’re going to hear in this track from EDDY. Everything from the voice to the minimalist piano performance all feels just right. The lyrics are delivered with a careful, intimate sincerity. The understated vocal harmonies do a great job of highlighting the gentle depth of the song. The lyrics are romantic, conveying a sense that a couple that didn’t work out, but there’s a sense of what could have been. It’s a sweet, sensitive track with a fascinating rock turn near the end that’s going to make it stand out from the crowd.

Francis Whitney – “Easy Street”
-If you’re a fan of chill acoustic singer songwriters, you’ll find a lot to like on this track. The energy of the track moves beyond the typical folk singer songwriters we usually feature, with a style that feels a bit more like indie pop. The lyrics have a maturity, with a focus on growing up, that shows both an appreciation of past adventures as well as the seriousness of the future. It feels like the song version of a “coming of age” story. The intricate details in the lyrics give the song a unique flavor that’s sure to stand out from the singer songwriter crowd.

John Adams – “Lay With Me”
-Fans of emotional singer songwriters will find a lot to like about this track from John Adams. The expressive piano and violin work together for a beautiful, captivating melodic style. Adams sings with depth and sincerity, inviting the listener into the emotional intimacy of the song. While the lyrics are about having someone lay with the lead character, this is not a lustful encounter. It’s a sweet, gentle, loving request. The combination of gentle Sleeping At Last style melodic structure with a beautiful operatic flourish in the second half of the song really sets this track on a course to really take off. I would love if fans of Adele and similar power pop artists would give this one a spin.
