A pair of POP PUNK tracks that will energize music fans who love power chords and nostalgia

Safe at Second – “99”
-Fans of Blink 182 and similar pop punk bands are going to absolutely love this track. The soaring vocal is rich and satisfying. If you are a music fan of a certain age, this song will remind you of high school or college life, for sure. The energy of the track is palpable. I appreciate the quality of the recording, the tightness of the harmonies, and the outstanding power chords. This is what pop punk is all about!

deadfoot – “Self-Unemployed”
-Bringing a melodic style and a lyrically rich style, this track from deadfoot has a satisfying and familiar sound. The melody reminds me of “Wake Me Up When September Ends.” The vocal harmonies on this track work really well. “No future is good enough. No presence worth giving up.” It’s a rather misanthropic anthem, all told, but it is a story of quitting a standard job to make music. The line “the only thing that people worship is the chase,” shows the general apathy of most people to the destruction of the world around us. It’s definitely a thought provoking track firmly entrenched in the lyrical incisiveness of the punk rock tradition.
