Three absolutely magical alt pop tracks that will have you in a dreamy state

Rainlights – “Forgive”
-From the time I first clicked play on this track, I knew it was going to be a fit for us. The vocal is really well done and the melody feels beautifully familiar. But the lyrics… oh my goodness… relational, accessible, and absolutely necessary. The ability to forgive is so key to our humanity; the sincerity and authenticity that comes through in this poetic alt pop song is a moral lesson as much as a song. Take some time and contemplate this one. The line “if I knew you outside of me” makes me think it’s not about another person, but about forgiving yourself. What do you think? Leave a comment below with your interpretation of these wonderful lyrics.

Etham – “I won’t”
-This is a beautiful piano-based pop song with an expressive, sincere vocal. You can hear from each line that Etham shares a heartfelt connection with these lyrics. It seems to be a song about feeling rejection from someone you love who keeps pushing you away. “When you give up, I won’t.” It’s a declaration of purpose and dedication to someone. Oftentimes when artists try this type of track, the upper register ends up too strained to sound good but Etham shows incredible versatility and range. This is an impressive performance with a soaring vocal and beautifully sincere lyrics.

Emily Hackett – “The way that we love”
-I don’t really know what I can say about this song that you won’t hear in the first line from the quality of Hackett’s vocal. This is a song with plenty of romantic sentimentality, but it’s the sheer beauty of the vocal that makes it stand out in a crowded pop scene. The intimacy and connection evident in the track feels special. The listener feels like you’re listening in on a bit of pillow talk, if you know what I mean. It’s got a sweet sincerity and sensuality that’s sure to connect with a lot of fans. This is a love song on a whole other level with some absolutely outstanding vocal work.
