Three engaging new rock tracks to get you excited for the weekend

Waiting 4 April – “Photo memory”
-Oh man. If you came of age during the peak pop punk years of the early 2000s, be prepared for an absolute feels trip with this track. The lyrics are about as emotional as you can get. If you’re like me and you occasionally stumble across a box of old memories complete with high school pics, hand written letters, and memorabilia of a “lifetime ago,” this song is going to make you feel some things. The pop punk chords and soaring vocal are excellent. The harmony-driven rock style is perfect for conveying the message of being caught in that “memory making” stage of life. This one is an absolute trip in the best way possible.

Jaw Talk – “What I can’t see”
-Alright let’s talk about the blues. This track conveys a bluesy message with some perfectly fuzzy guitars and a solid, expressive lead vocal style. The key lyric is “I want to feel what I can’t see.” It is ostensibly a song about intimacy and connecting with someone beyond what you can express with words. There’s an energy and aggressiveness conveyed by the guitar work that feels almost like a second “voice” in the song. It’s definitely an interesting mix of traditional rock with more of a distortion-heavy 90s alt rock vibe. It’s a fantastic unconventional rock song.

honeywhip – “Pineapple cloud”
-I don’t know what a pineapple cloud is. I can’t even understand every lyric of this track. But here’s what I know; I love the way it FEELS to listen to this song. There’s an easy going hopefulness to this song that resonates with me in the life stage that I’m in. It’s about going with the flow. It’s about chillin’ out and enjoying life a bit. The vibes are undeniable. I hope everyone who listens to this track feels the same kind of chilled out relaxation that I get from it. Sometimes a song is just a song that makes you feel good; vibe out to some honeywhip, y’all.
