Our Favorite Thursday Songwriters

Ashley Strongarm – “Pushing Daisies”

Ashley Strongarm is one of the more intriguing songwriters we have come across lately. Her songwriting is tight, clever, and relatable, while her sound draws from folk and modern singer songwriter influences. “Pushing Daisies” is an outstanding introduction to her talent. The track beautifully captures the insecurity of young life amidst pandemic, chaos, and change. We were reminded of Jessica Lea Mayfield in how she is able to craft sharp lyrics while still offering an embattled hope. Strongarm is a rare talent and we are excited to hear more.

Steve Stout – “The Hitching Post”

Stout has had a busy year. After starting a record label (ALLSWELL RECORDS), taking a hiatus from the huge act Lifehouse, and releasing a bunch of work with site favorite ƘZWALD, the artist took some leftover tracks that were more comfortable in a solo collection. After his wife showed some impressive lyrics, the pair worked together for a relatable track about the “human zoo” we find ourselves in. The result is a fun track with lots of great sonic textures to keep listeners guessing.
