We love the new single by Afonso. Her ability to craft a captivating indie honest track, while still having a killer sound and catchy chorus is near perfect. It is almost impossible not to sing along to “Holy My Heart”, and we dare you not to. As far as style goes, it is wonderfully frustrating to place labels on her music. This track has strong pop elements, but also has a bit of a rock edge with electro elements. Afonso has also sang in various settings and with artists like Keith Urban – which should further confuse labels. The end result is an impressive artist with an impressive ability to surprise and engage listeners from every background.
