Cobi – The Soulful Hit Your Thursday Needs

Five million streams on Spotify, performances at Royal Albert Music Hall and The Hollywood Bowl, and signing to the same label as Fetty Wap and Highly Suspect 300 Entertainment, is an impressive resume for the genre-crushing artist Cobi. Mixing pop sensibilities with confident R&B vocals, the young Minnesota born crooner attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music and formerly fronted Boston group Gentlemen Hall. In his new release, “Don’t Cry For Me”, the singer shows off why he has been generating so much buzz in the industry. A song about past failures and self-defeatism, it builds into a humble plea for help as well as a gospel style declaration of overcoming. It is both confident and inspiring as it soars and begs the listener to sing along. Check it out below and let us know what you think of the surefire hit.

Currently Cobi is on tour with Augustines and hopefully making more soul stirring songs like this one.[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/261202770″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]
