Indie pop can be a slippery genre; what makes a song indie, anyways? Who really knows what pop is, anyways? When it comes to my discerning ear, indie pop is a sound that is blissfully light and enjoyable. It is not quite bubble gum pop, and might even have a banjo, but is definitely not the jangly folk music that we reserve for our “folk” posts. No, indie pop is its own animal and hopefully after these ten tracks, you too can feel comfortable with the genre.
