The Roadside Scholars–

Pop music out of Southern California has something about it that I just love.  It clears up a case of the winter blues real quick.  It’s cold everywhere right now, so you probably have the winter blues too!  You should check out The Roadside Scholars.  Their new album is called “Lawless”.  It’s smooth, energetic pop music brought to you by a bunch of sparkly, shiny human dudes.

If you’re in the mood for an anthemic, dusty, sunlight proclamation of wisdom and glory–Listen to the title track.  It’s the song about who we want to be when we grow up–people who have worked for a long time to make the world a better place for their children, who have been strong, encouraging, full of life and light.  I really like this take on the modern anthem.  So often they’re about the power of youth and the thrill of beauty–these things make for a great song, but the Roadside Scholars version has more value to it.

Enjoy this band.  I hope they bring warmth to your face and your heart even if it doesn’t make it to your toes (because it is cold out there!) (Don’t worry, they’ll thaw in the spring!).
