Oak Meadow: Incredible Instrumental Post Rock

We have a undying love for Post Rock here at Ear to the Ground. Done right, it can transport listeners to the very limits of imagination and musical ambition. While we don’t receive many tracks within the instrumental rock genre, when we do, it is typically incredible.

Take for example Oak Meadow. The act have recently released an incredible debut EP Afterall, and their first single, also named “Afterall”, had us thinking of some of the landmark acts within the genre. Both cinematic and reflective, Oak Meadow have an undying optimism that carries their sound with emotive strength. While starting out with a sort of Coldplay style, the track then builds into a near combustible piece of atmospheric rock.

“Afterall” is the perfect track for studying or deep reflection, but is also a genuinely compelling piece to examine and dissect. The layers and heart behind it are authentic and beautiful. Give the EP a listen, and be prepared to hear more from Oak Meadow in the coming year.
