Well, fans of the cute duo “Lennon and Maisy” will recognize the older of the two girls, Lennon Stella. I’m here to report on good authority that she is all grown up. Wowzers. This single is an absolute tour de force. Not only does Stella show off her incredible voice that we’ve all known about from her performances on Nashville, she also packs a powerful punch lyrically on this track.
If I may riff off of this for a moment, Stella represents a generational shift in modern music. Her lyrics are unapologetic and not trying to pander to record execs or any semblance of making it in a conventional sense. You can hear the sincerity in the song’s style. The performance on this live version is expansive and, frankly, inspiring. I can’t wait to hear more from her as her solo career skyrockets.
